The Urban Education Semester is an ideal for-credit program for undergraduates wanting to explore education as a career. It is an interdisciplinary academic immersion  program, offered in both the fall and the spring semesters, which introduces students from all academic backgrounds to the field of urban public education.

The Swearer Center considers active community participation and social responsibility to be central concerns of a liberal education. The center is a great resource for databases and community service listings, student-led community-based projects and fellowship/grant information for students and alumni. The Swearer Center also coordinates the "Careers in the Common Good" web site and collaborates with Career Services on a series of related workshops.
