Additional Resources for Education Careers
The
Urban Education Semester is an ideal for-credit program for undergraduates
wanting to explore education as a career. It is an interdisciplinary academic
immersion program, offered in both the fall and the spring semesters,
which introduces students from all academic backgrounds to the field of
urban public education.
The Swearer
Center considers active community participation and social responsibility
to be central concerns of a liberal education. The center is a great resource
for databases and community service listings, student-led community-based
projects and fellowship/grant information for students and alumni. The
Swearer Center also coordinates the "Careers in the Common Good" web site
and collaborates with Career Services on a series of related workshops.
